Who is it for
Early childhood educators, teaching assistants, childminders and all professionals working with children.
Objectives
Enable participants to recognize and act in pediatric emergencies, applying the pediatric chain of survival, basic life support and age-appropriate first aid.
Course content
- 1. First aid — The Pediatric "Chain of Survival"; Integrated Medical Emergency System (SIEM)
- 2. Examining the pediatric victim — Primary survey; Secondary survey
- 3. Pediatric Basic Life Support — Safety assessment; Consciousness assessment; Calling for help; ABC sequence; Call 112; Recovery position
- 4. Pediatric emergencies — Acute illness; Respiratory infections; Digestive disorders; Urinary Tract Infection; Dental Injuries; Traumatic Injuries; Neurological Disease; The Professional's role; Other Accidents

Is the "Pediatric First Aid" module DGERT-certified?
